He found it absurd that anyone, especially someone running for president, would choose this time to attack Israel, our friend and ally, and praise Hezbollah terrorists as ‘very smart.’ This statement comes in the wake of the surprise attack by Hamas on Israel last Saturday.

Trump’s comments were made in reference to a report he had read from national defense officials expressing concern about a potential attack from Hezbollah in the ongoing Hamas-Israel conflict.
The former president has repeatedly claimed that if he were still in office, the surprise attack by Hamas on Israel would not have occurred.
In response to DeSantis’ criticism, the Trump War Room, an account linked to the former president’s 2024 campaign, defended Trump’s comments.
They argued Trump was highlighting the incompetence of the Biden administration, which inadvertently revealed an area susceptible to terrorist attacks. They further clarified calling someone ‘smart’ does not equate to endorsing their actions.
